Welcome to Sunday Fundays

Sunday Fundays is open to all Junior Members aged 8 to 17 years. They are about learning to love just messing about in boats. You can choose from Dinghy Sailing, Rowing, Stand-up Paddleboarding, Kayaking/Canoeing or a mixture of all four.

We operate as the name suggests on alternate Sundays, over the summer months when we have water at Dell Quay.

But I don't have a boat - not a problem. You can book a club sailing dinghy or Stand-up Paddleboard for a small fee; and of course, the club's Celtic Longboat is available for those who want to row (small fee applies). Please note the club has only one kayak to book, and no canoes. If you want to kayak or canoe you may have to provide your own boat.

I don't know how to sail/row/stand-up paddleboat/kayak - There will be two sailing groups each led by an RYA Dinghy Instructor. Group one is for those who don't know how to sail or are still learning and will focus on building your skills and knowledge. The second group is more about just enjoying being afloat with your friends. The rowing group will be lead by a Dell Quay Competent Rowing Coxwain who will be very happy to explain and show you how to row. The paddlesport groups will be lead by a competent adult who will get you started in paddlesports.

I havent been to the club for a while and I don't know anyone - Dell Quay is a great place to make new friends. We are a friendly and very welcoming bunch. Just come along and give it a try, you wont regret it.

How much does this cost? If you use your own Dinghy/Stand-up Paddleboard, Kayak/Canoe then the answer is nothing, not a penny! If you need to borrow a club dinghy then these can be booked through the club website at the standard cost for the vessel you are booking. There is a mininum qualification of RYA Stage 4 or above to book a doublehander.

How do I register?

Registration Step 1

Each of the FunDay's are bookable seperately. You do this by going to the Calendar and selecting the Sunday Funday on the date you want to book for. Registration opens at 17:00 on the Sunday two weeks prior to the event and closes at 17:00 on the Wednesday before the event. Please note that you will be required to register for each event you wish to attend independantly.
