Cruiser Training Courses

When sufficient demand has built up the Cruiser Committee organise one or more of the specialist RYA courses (Sea Survival, Radar, VHF DSC, Day Skipper etc) or bespoke courses such as Diesel Maintenance.

Courses for 2024:

1. RYA Day Skipper Theory: A 5 day course on the following dates
   • Saturday and Sunday the 26/27th October
   • Saturday and Sunday the 2nd/3rd November
   • Saturday 9th October. Exam Day
2. RYA Coastal Skipper/Yacht Master Theory: A 6 day course on the following dates
   • Saturday and Sunday the 23/24th November
   • Saturday and Sunday the 30th/1st December
   • Saturday and Sunday the 7/8th December.

Taking place in the Sail loft and/or Education Centre.

Diesel engine practical course. January - Date to be confirmed. This course doesn't have an RYA certificate however, it is delivered by a RYA/MCA accredited instructor and focuses on the practical maintenance and servicing of diesel engines and winterisation.

Arranged as required

• VHF / DSC Radio Course - if there are 4 to 8 volunteers for this course it can be arranged and delivered by Emsworth Sea School (Discounted for DQSC).
• Radar and Electronic Navigation aids
